Teaching

Sinyu Tsang is a piano and theory teacher based in Richmond, BC (Greater Vancouver). She is experienced in teaching the RCM, ABRSM and Trinity syllabuses. She garnered a reputation for her diverse teaching methods and enthusiasm. Her teaching focuses on building a strong foundation and stylistic interpretation. She designs study plans for each student, also incorporates diverse musical genres and art appreciation.

 

Sinyu’s students ranged from beginner to diploma level. Students develop their interest and boost self-confidence through interactive and performance-based learning. Most of her students proceeded to higher attainment and were awarded in festivals and exams. Recently, one of her students received Distinction in his ATCL Piano Performance exam and being admitted to the Bachelor in Music. Programs are Here.

Biography

 

Sinyu Tsang received her M.A. in Music from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She was also awarded the DipABRSM in Piano Performance from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Since 2010, she has been teaching piano privately and in the ICQM Primary and Secondary School. Sinyu appeared as a soloist and accompanist in recitals and musical events. She also served as a church pianist for over 10 years.


Sinyu's other experience in music includes composing and sound designing for award-winning short films and commercials. Besides, she is a sound artist invited to local and international art festivals. Her eclectic musical tastes and deep listening practice allows her to inspire and get the best out of her students.
